Moyer will do an alright job, plus it give the Phillies another starter....with experience
Jamie Moyer received a $4.75 million mutual option for 2007 as part of his trade to the Phillies.
If the club declines the option, he'd get a $500,000 buyout. Another term of the deal was that the Phillies guaranteed the $800,000 he was due in potential bonuses this year. He was going to make $200,000 each for 170, 180, 190 and 200 innings. Since he's currently at 160 innings, it seemed likely he was going to reach all of the bonuses anyway.
