Harden on the 15 day DL
a kick to the nuts I tell ya...muscle strain in his back. Ron Flores was recalled...I imagine either Halsey or Saarloos will take Harden's spot in the rotation.

It's worse than that; the pregame just said he has a muscle tear and we're looking at 2-3 months.Originally Posted by Providence A's

are you serious?!?!?!
Yep. My buddy just called me; he was listening.Originally Posted by Providence A's
Not good. That's like losing your starting QB IMO.
I know injuries are part of the game, but this is getting a bit ridiculous, no?
over on AN they have it that the pregame said he might miss 3 - 6 weeks...which could mean 2 months with the A's...either way it's not goodOriginally Posted by A'sDiehard
*heavy sigh* Yep. That's why everyone was happy and talking about no injuries coming out of spring training it made me nervous. What can we do but hope other guys step up. Yeah Haren looked good tonight but let me see him do it against the Angels, White Sux, Red Sux or Yank-Me's. Who's our best starter now? Blanton probably has the best stuff but consistency is a question right now. I have zero faith Loaiza and Zito although Barry has the ability to step it up when stuff like this happens; we have seen that from him even as recently as last year (late in the year). Another problem this causes is more wear and tear on our bullpen as Harden generally will get us to the seventh most of the time.Originally Posted by Providence A's
Please guys, start hitting and get hot.
well, one good thing so far is that we are 9 - 5 on the road where we usually don't play as well (although last year there was only a 2 game difference for the whole year)...we usually start slow on the road. The bad news is we're only 6 - 8 at home...we need to turn that around as usually we have one of the best home records in the majors at the end of the season.
I really hope Rich's career doesnt end up being derailed by injuries. He's getting injured way too often now and there's only so much the body can handle, especially being a power pitcher. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
Hey Prov, I'm thinking starting a 2006 photo album thread. Sound okay?
go ahead man...you're the boss as much as I am...feel free to add anything you want or anything I haven't thought of.
I really like that idea
Cool, thanks Prov and ABG. Most of the photos are stored on my computer at work so I'll start one Monday.
I've got photos from my one and only trip to Oaktown that I can scan and share, too...they're not official, but whatever
Gaudin was sent down because the A's need a fresh arm...Matt Roney was called up.
