    Mr Showboat barely closed the door; Chavez barely missed that last pitch and had he pulled it it would have been our 4th win against the Rivera wannabe this year.

    A's lefty Joe Kennedy will make his second start with the A's on Thursday when he tries to top Angels righty Erivn Santana in the finale of a three-game series at Angel Stadium.
    Kennedy, who was a starter in Colorado before being acquired by the A's on July 13 and assigned to the bullpen, gave up two runs over five innings to beat the Orioles on Saturday in his first start for Oakland. Kennedy is filling in for injured righty Rich Harden and will be on a 90-pitch limit Wednesday.

    No score after 1. Kennedy got out of a 1st and 3rd 1 out situation. He got big bad Vlad to pop out to 2nd base and Molina to ground into a force out.
