Excited A's .500 at the break

Reddick just doubled home Weeks to beat the Mariners 2 - 1 in the bottom of the 13th inning. It was their 8th walk-off win this season. They were tied with the Nationals for the most with 7 so I'm guessing this puts them in the lead now.

So...they're at .500 at the break. I'd love to see them add some offense and take a run at one of the Wild Card spots. They're only 2.5 game behind for the last Wild Card. They'll be getting McCarthy and Anderson back...possibly Braden. The pitching will only get stronger. Let's get some offense!

How many of those walk offs are against the Ms? Seriously have they played more 9 inning or extra inning games against each other?

I'm not sure. I'd have to sift through the box scores.

    And here it is:

July 8th against Mariners (RBI double)
July 6th against Mariners (3-run homer)
July 3rd against Red Sox (sacrifice fly)
June 24th against Giants (3-run homer)
June 21st against Dodgers (3-run homer)
May 8th against Blue Jays (Grand Slam)
April 25th against White Sox (RBI single after 2-run homer tied the score)
April 11 against Royals (HBP w/ bases loaded)

Apparently, only the last 2 were against the Mariners.

The M's and A's play each other very well. I'm surprised its only twice.

Re: A's .500 at the break

After Cook blew the save and wasted a superb outing by Millone (7 innings, 6 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, and 10 k's) Moss hit a walk-off single.

    Updated walk-off list:

July 20th against Yankees (RBI single)
July 18th against Rangers (solo homer)
July 8th against Mariners (RBI double)
July 6th against Mariners (3-run homer)
July 3rd against Red Sox (sacrifice fly)
June 24th against Giants (3-run homer)
June 21st against Dodgers (3-run homer)
May 8th against Blue Jays (Grand Slam)
April 25th against White Sox (RBI single after 2-run homer tied the score)
April 11 against Royals (HBP w/ bases loaded)

Re: A's .500 at the break

According to ESPN Millone is the 4th Oakland (I don't think that means A's franchise) pitcher to strike out 10 Yankees. The last to do it was Bobby Witt in 1993. Also:

From Elias: Tommy Milone had 10 K and no runs allowed vs Yankees. The last A's pitcher (before Milone) with 10+ K and 0 runs allowed vs Yankees was Eddie Plank in 1913, when team was in Philadelphia.

Re: A's .500 at the break

If the A's are going to sweep the Yankees, it will have to be another walk-off. They were losing 4 - 0, but chipped away. Seth Smith homered in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game. Inge and Suzuki homered in the game, too.

Here is a video with all the walk-offs. Enjoy!
