Rollie Fingers blew the save and 1913 scored a run in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings. Pinch hitter Danny Murphy knocked in the winning run.     I don't think they had closers back in the 1900s...but 1972 did use their closer; Rollie Fingers...he just blew it

    I just noticed Dave Duncan was a catcher. He must have been a good enough hitter to bat 6th in the lineup.

    He's really hitting 6th out 8 because they didn't have the DH in 1972 and the pitchers had to hit....he was tied for 3rd on the team with 19 homers that year though (only hit .218 )
