I really hope he breaks camp with the team and they give him a shot. He's on the 40-man roster and they protected him from the Rule-5 draft. Just give him a shot and see what happens. He's 27. He dominated AA Texas League last year and finished strong at AAA.

There's some talk of the A's being interested in Alberto Callaspo if the A's don't have to give the Angels a legitimate prospect.

Grant Balfour was offically named closer today, despite Jon Heyman saying that Fuentes would be named moments earlier.

Dallas Braden will be shut down for the next three weeks because of a left shoulder strain.
Braden is trying to make it back from major shoulder surgery. He was hoping to return to action in early May, but this setback likely pushes his timetable into June. The 28-year-old southpaw was given a platelet rich plasma injection on Tuesday.

I hate to see a setback like that
