SS Grant Green was in the futures games again this year. He won MVP (2 for 2, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 1 run).

I think he was the only Athletic on either team.

Another A's pitcher bites the dust Braden and now Anderson. The Athletics have announced that Brett Anderson underwent Tommy John surgery.
Awful news. Anderson has been sidelined since early June with what was termed as elbow soreness. He was even given a platelet rich plasma injection in an effort to avoid surgery, but clearly he hasn't progressed as hoped. The talented young left-hander is officially droppable in standard mixed leagues. We won't see him again until late-2012 or perhaps 2013.

I hope he can make the transition fairly quickly. The A's have moved prospect Grant Green from shortstop to center field.
The Futures Game MVP didn't show enough at shortstop to convince the A's that he could stay there on a permanent basis, so they decided to make a move. Green has batted .286/.348/.398 with four homers and 40 RBI in 50 games with Double-A Midland this season. The move to the outfield could fast track his promotion to the big leagues.
Time to get swept again.
Great job tonight pitching, great job
I would think so. He's been terrible against the Yankees.
Harden and the A's pen held off to beat the Yankees 4 - 3 today.
Supposedly, the A's are close to signing 1st round pick SP Sonny Gray.
Sonny Gray - Oakland Athletics - 2011 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com
The A's are close to reaching an agreement with first-round draft pick RHP Sonny Gray.
Oakland drafted Gray out of Vanderbilt with the No. 18 overall pick. He has a solid low-90s fastball and a hard-breaking slider that should help him rise quickly through the A's farm system. The righty is likely to start his professional career at Double-A Midland and could find himself in Oakland's bullpen when rosters expand in September. Jul 25, 1:08 PM

Apparently, Barton has had a torn labrum in his left shoulder since the beginning of the season and needs surgery. He should be ready for ST. That explains a lot about his struggles and lack of power this season.
I should go on vacation more often.
Going to the game tomorrow night 4 rows behind the A's bullpen.
MR Ziegler has been traded to AZ for 1B Brandon Allen and MR Jorden Norberto.
Supposedly, Crisp and Willingham will be staying put.
How do you get swept by a team that just lost 17 in a row?
I don't know...abuse Gio more, he likes it! Wait, what? Seriously, what was the point in sending him back out there for the 7th inning after he was already over 100 pitches and not really pitching that great? C'mon now!
Run Coco run! Four stolen bases last night.
