    Yankees Yankees @ A's Tuesday 4/20 - Thursday 4/22

    The 9 - 3 Yankees comes to town to take on the 9 - 5 A's.

Javier Vazquez vs. Gio Gonzalez on Tuesday
Phil Hughes vs. Ben Sheets on Wednesday
CC Sabathia vs. Dallas Braden on Thursday

I'd love it if the A's could take 2 of 3, but I have a feeling they'll get 1 game.

I'd love it if they scored like 10 on Vazquez.

Does ARod make more than the entire A's team?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?

Well we lost yesterday 7-3 against the Yankee's shakiest pitcher, so the forecast for the rest of the series isn't looking so hot...

0-0 right now in the second.

And I'm pretty sure A-Rod makes more than the entire A's team... our highest paid player is Chavez, but it does seem like 90% of the team is making just a smidge above the major league minimum.

2-0 Yankees lead. RBI triple by Cano and RBI groundout by Posada. Oh joy.

Hughes has 7 K's through five innings and has yet to allow a hit. Sheets hasn't fared all that badly, but with our non-existant offense, those two runs seem like twenty. I just hope we can keep it close enough for us to mount a comeback. *fingers crossed*

3-1 Yankees win. Hughes carried the NH into the 8th, but Chavez broke it up with an infield hit. Now all we have left to do is try to salvage the last game against Vallejo native Sabathia. Yikes.

Eric Chavez had an infield hit? Was the infield playing in the outfield?

    Re: Yankees @ A's Tuesday 4/20 - Thursday 4/22

The hit was a weird chopper off the mound that ricocheted off Hughes. Sucky way to lose the NH, not that I should care because it's the Yankees.

In other news... we won today's game 4-2. Suzuki had a 3-run homer in the first, and Braden pitched well to hold the Yankees to just two runs. So we were able to salvage one game, ironically the one game I thought we didn't have a chance in.

Oh yeah, by the way, Ellis was placed on the 15-day DL and Landon Powell was recalled from Sac...

Suzuki hit a 3-run homer and hit into a triple play. I wonder how often that combo has happened. I'm glad the A's got 1 and didn't get swept.

According to ESPN Stats Info, Suzuki became the first player to homer and hit into a triple play in the same game since

Did Holliday hit a 3-run homer?

Buck was placed on the DL too, retroactive to the 21st. Don't remember who was recalled though...
