Is Rosales expected to start anywhere, or just be a bench player?

Utility infielder. He'll play all over the place, but he won't be a regular starter (barring injury I suppose).

I really like the moves Beane has made. I think this is a team that could very quietly turn into a team to watch.

Well, I read yesterday that it appears Rosales has an outside shot to be the starting SS if they don't think Pennington can handle it. We'll see how that works out and how the rest of Beane's moves work out. It's hard to predict how they'll do. The A's could either be really good or really bad depending on what happens.

Yesterday's game was postponed/canceled due to rain. The A's play the Cubs today.

They play @ KC and vs. Tex tomorrow in some good old fashioned split squad games.

I don't think he'll start on a regular basis. He's going to DH and play some positions, but I'm pretty sure Cust will be the regular DH.

A's lost to the Royals 11 - 10 and tied with the Rangers 8 - 8. Cust, Kouzmanoff (off Harden), Stassi all homered. Mazzaro started against KC and went 3 shutout innings facing the minimum of 9 batters. Corey Brown went 3 for 4 with 2 runs, 2 RBIs, a walk, and a stolen base.

    A's record: 2 - 3 -1

A's won yesterday using a split squad vs. Milwaukee by a score of 7 - 3. Michael Taylor hit his first homer of ST...it was a 3-run homer.

    A's record 3 - 4 - 1

A's lost to Arizona today 10 - 1. Daric Barton had 3 hits and is 6 for 15 so far this ST. Anderson was roughed up a little going 2 and 2/3 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 4 hits and 1 walk. He had 1 k. A couple errors led to 3 unearned runs after that. McBeth got hit hard in the last inning giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk.

    A's record: 3 - 5 - 1

The A's play at SF and vs. SD tomorrow. Those are split squad games obviously.
