Let's just consider only the statistics a pitcher has absolute control over (base on balls, home runs, strikeouts), and plug Sheets' values into the formula for his Defense-Independent ERA. This is the stuff sophisticated talent evaluators like Billy Beane find meaningful.

    Anderson threw 4 shutout innings today against the Giants. The A's lost 6 - 1 though. Kouzmanoff knocked in the A's only run. They play Arizona tomorrow.

    The A's won 7 - 3 today. Patterson knocked in 3 runs. Tyson Ross struck out 7 in 3 innings while picking up the win. The A's travel to Colorado tomorrow.

    A's lost 10 - 4 today. Gabe Gross had 4 hits with 2 RBIs and Barton had 2 hits with 1 RBI (solo homer). Cahill went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits with 1 k.

    The A's play 2 split squad games tomorrow vs. the Cubs and at the Indians.

    The A's beat the Cubs 7 - 4 and lost to the Indians 12 - 4 yesterday. Sheets got the win vs the Cubs going 4 innings giving up 1 earned run. Barton was 1 for 1 with 4 walks. Jennings got lit up vs. the Indians going 1.2 innings giving up 8 earned runs. Kouzmanoff homered and made an error. A's play the Reds today. Braden is starting.

    Cueto with a solid outing, little wild, but not bad. Gomes hit his 4th homer of the spring and Rosales hit his 2nd, against his former team. Still in progress right now.

    Reds ended up winning 4 - 3. I just noticed the Reds actually travel to Oakland for 3 games in June this season.

    He actually started yesterday's game against the M's. The A's won 7 - 2 with Duke getting the win. He gave up 0 runs, 1 hit, 1 walk, and had 4 k's in 4 innings. Crisp hit a 3-run homer.

    The A's tied the Dodgers the other night 3 - 3 and lost to the Giants last night 6 - 3. They won 2 split squad games today though against the Rangers and the Cubs.

    Cahill and Gonzalez combined to strike out 11 in 9 innings vs. the Dodger. Suzuki homered.

    Pennington had 2 hits in with a run and RBI in the loss to the Giants.

    Braden went 6 innings while giving up 2 earned in 6 innings against the Cubs. Buck homered.

    Mazzaro went 4 innings while giving up 2 earned runs. Recker homered and Fox hit a 3-run homer.

    A's record: 11 - 11 - 2

    The A's lost to the Royals 14 - 12 on Saturday. Duke didn't do too well. He gave up 8 earned runs in 3 innings. Kouzmanoff homered in the loss. Mark Ellis had 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

    The A's tied Colorado 6 - 6 yesterday. Anderson gave up 6 earned runs in 5 innings with 7 k's. Fox homered. He went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
