Curt Young retains his position as pitching coach for the seventh season, Ron Romanick comes back for his third year as bullpen coach, Tye Waller will see his fourth season as bench coach, and returning for a second season will be hitting coach Jim Skaalen, third base coach Mike Gallego and first base coach Todd Stevenson.

I doubt this will be the case for 2011 if they don't show improvement in 2010. If they finish in last again, I bet they make some changes.

A's signed 3B Dallas McPherson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. He'll "compete" for the 3B job supposedly. We'll see

lol I love to read that the Red Sox are interested in Kennedy and especially Crosby. I doubt they're really serious, but it's still funny. Crosby is terrible. Oh, they're also interested in Duke...then again, they're interested in everybody.

Supposedly, there's an outside chance that Matsui goes to Oakland (Yanks don't resign him, Cust non-tendered, and Matsui accepts a deal worth about half of last year's $13 mil). I highly doubt they sign him. I wouldn't anyway...

MR Casilla has been released.

Reliever Santiago Casilla was released today to create room on the 40-man roster for reliever Bobby Cassevah, who was selected in the Rule 5 draft from the Angels' system.

I'm sure someone will take a chance on him. He's shown that he can be effective before. He was just terrible last season though...terrible. Nationals? Or some other NL maybe?

The A's sent 3 people from the organization, including assistant GM Forst, to watch Aroldis Chapman throw today. I doubt we have much of a chance at him, but I guess we'll see.

It also appears that 3B/1B/DH Wallace has been traded to Toronto for newly acquired OF Michael Taylor.

The A's signed a bunch of players to minor league deals with invitations to ST (former rule 5 draftee MR Fernando Hernandez, former A's spec MR Marcus McBeth, and a few others).

Duchscherer resigned with the A's for about $2 mil guaranteed. The deal could be worth over $5 mil if he hits incentives for starts and innings pitched. The A's can't offer him arbitration if he is a type A FA after the season.
