Well, the A's fended off the 4-game sweep today with a 5 - 4 win. They sure did try their best to blow it though as they were up 4 - 0, but gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th and 2 more in the bottom of the 8th to tie it up. Kennedy homered twice including the go ahead homer in the 9th. Giambi also homered.

Pathetic series though. They're 19 - 29 and 10 games back already. Only Washington has a worse record. Looks like Beane will be selling some veterans in the near future.

Market should be strong for Holliday despite the slow start.

yea, they could still hold on to him for the picks...or even attempt to resign him if the economy still stinks and Holliday thinks he won't get as much on the market. He hit .283 with an OPS of .863 in May so he seems to be heating up.
