Are the A's done making moves this season?
Do you think the A's are done making moves this season? I read that Eric Chavez and Emil Brown could clear waivers, but that it seemed unlikely that the A's would make any moves. I'm pretty sure we're stuck with Chavez for the duration of his contract unless we just cut him. I don't think Billy would do that though. He could DH or play 1B like he says, but we have Thomas, Barton, Cust, and others that are filling those positions so I'm not exactly sure when that would happen. He could be DH next year if Thomas leaves. Cust could go to LF regularly (not what I would want) and Barton at 1B.
I'm not sure if there's much of a market for Brown. And everyone else of interest probably wouldn't clear waivers even if we wanted to move them (Street, Embree, etc.). I really don't think we'll be making anymore moves, but you never know with Beane. Thoughts?

Moves, probably not. Meaningful moves, probably. I mean, I would by no means be shocked if they picked up a role player for a low price, or got rid of a mid-level trade chip, but I definitely don't think the majority of the guys you mentioned are going anywhere.

Billy Beane is one of the best and busiest GMs in the game. In no way do I think he's done.

Chavez isn't going anywhere as he's opted for surgery and is finished for the season.

The A's are done for the season. The A's don't normally do waiver trades.

I'm not sure whether we're done or not. Beane is always trading when he's least expected to, and vice versa. Will we be trading guys? I don't think so. Will we be calling up/sending down players? Probably. It's really up in the air right now.
