If you want to reach, go ahead. Fact is this draft is deeper in high schoolers/righthanders than college/leftys.

Of course, as we speak I'm sure Mr. Gammons is writing this up as "Moneyball's next strategic move - drafting flamethrowers from high school. The old scouts will be too busy focusing on painting soft tossers, they'll never know what hit em."

I'm sure they know more about what they want to do than I do...I was just saying it'd be nice to get some lefties. One from my university got drafted by the Cards in the 9th round, so I'm sure there were some, but I guess they wanted righties...and just because there were more RHP from high school in the draft, doesn't mean they're all quality...

I guess I'll never understand what is so wrong with these high school kids going to college and getting more experience against better players and then going into the draft. Are they afraid they're going to suck if they go to college? Are they too dumb to go to college? Are they just desperate for money?

40 picks after 39 rounds and here's what we got.

    6 SS
    6 C
    2 2B
    1 1B
    1 3B
    2 OF, 1 RF
    5 LHP
    16 RHP

    11 high schoolers
    29 college players

only 3 OF out of 40 picks seems to be a small amount to me...about half of our picks were pitchers
