Thread: Casilla pushing Street out the door?

Re: Casilla pushing Street out the door?

I don't know why everybody thinks so highly of street. I haven't liked him as a closer since day one. He got the job because the A's had nobody else at the time. Looks like Casilla and brown are coming back down to earth. Neither one has been pitching that good in the last few outings. Nobody is mentioning Devine as a possible closer. He seems to have better stuff then brown, casilla and street. We have too many set up guys in the pen right now. I think street has the most value so trade him and promote devine to the closers role.

Well Casilla hurt something after throwing that pitch for a homer to Peralta. Still don't know yet what it is he did, but as soon as he threw that pitch he started to head towards the dugout, so obviously he was in some pain.

Casilla was put on the DL...he will have an MRI to see if there is more to his sore elbow.

That is a shame. He was doing such a great job. Hope he isn't out for very long at all.

Well Street gave up 3 runs in the 9th inning of tonite's game (it was 5-1 but then was 5-4). He eventually got the save though. I'm not sure whether that means anything or not yet...we'll see.
