They should improve their offense now that Thomas is gone, but I'm sure Beane's got something in his pocket to improve their team.

It was cool but it's tough with a three year old. We were in line to get our photo taken with Eckersley and the WS trophies but we didn't make it; I screwed up and should have been there earlier. Going down on the field was pretty cool and it makes you realize just how huge and crappy that place is for baseball. We saw quite a few players and coaches and Kielty was just walking around with hsi hair all fluffed out again. He's a cool dude but I still don't know what the A's see in that guy other than depth.

    Can't wait for the games.

Nothing we have done this offseason has really excited me at all. That and I read somewhere that Crosby is just starting to feel healthy again. I think things between he and the A's could end ugly. Whatever I'm sure he'll make his annual appearance on the DL this year.

This move will put Oakland over the top! A's 161-1 the one loss when Roger Clemens of the D-Rays hits Ledee in the face after Ledee smacks a grand slam off him an inning earlier and he has to leave the game.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

it was a very uneventful off-season as far as signings and trades really...I'm not huge on the Piazza signing. I think Beane is relying on the law of averages returning in our favor as far as health goes...we're due for a healthy season.

no real news at the moment...

I neglected to ask ADH, what games did you get tickets to? I got tickets to the A's / Red Sox on May 2nd in Boston. I got 2 other Red Sox games after that. I'm going to give one to my dad and step mom. The games are Kansas City in July and Tampa Bay in August.

It appears that we're done for now after the addition of Stewart. After all the talk of trading a starter, Saarloos was the only guy to go in a minor move. Shafer could help the bullpen in the future and clearly Saarloos wasn't part of our future plans.

I'm going to close this thread now, unstick it, and open a spring training thread.
