I feel a lot better about our bullpen this year, especially when you consider the fact that they cost us the playoffs last year. That said, Rincon came in to the game today and my buddies and I were a little worried. Sure enough, he fell behind in the count and gave up a 395 ft out. Macha pulled him after that and the rest of the guys shut the door. I think my main concern will be if we have enough power on this team; that and I hope Bobby doesn't experience the sophomore slump.

I've never had confidence in Rincon. I know his ERA was nice last season but still. I hate having to see him pitch with inherited runners on base.

I hope Dotel is a lot more solid with a full season as the closer. Like I said in another thread, he reminds me a lot of Billy Koch. I would hate for him to cost us an important game, if we have any important games this season. I remember vividly what Koch did in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Twins a few years back. Just heartbreaking.

Thanks, yea...it'd be nice, especially after the horrible 7 or 8 years there in the 90s. It's just frustrating to see us developing talent for the rest of the league when we can't keep our guys. Hopefully that will be over now.

If it doesn't work out, Dotel will be one hell of a set-up man.

I'll tell you what, Swisher had better start out hot because Charles Thomas is waiting if he doesn't. In fact I predict Thomas to be one of our starting outfielders at some point in the season.

    Swisher went 1-4...good start

The pen looks good so far...but it's way early.

I still can't believe we got shut-out today by one of the bottom third rotations...
