I think tonight is going to be a high scoring game...Loaiza is garbage as we have seen so far this season and Volquez has been even worse in his time in the major leagues last season. He's 0 - 4 with an ERA over 14.

Volquez has gotten quite a bit more experience since his last callup. He has pitched well in triple A this year. I agree that it will probably be a shootout though. A piece of trash against almost no MLB experience is a recipe for runs.

Volquez also didn't do well in ST when competing for a job with the Rangers so he's not that far removed from that...he just hasn't shown that he's ready for major league hitters and I won't believe it until he shows me he is.

Volquez was 1 - 2 with an ERA over 8 in ST this year. Yes, he's done well at AAA, but until he proves he can do it at the major league level it means nothing. He's had 2 shots going into tonight and he's 0 for 2...let's see what he does with his 3rd shot (I don't mean specifically tonight, I mean his overall time in the majors this time around...however long that may be).
