1-0 Jays on a Rios single. Loaiza was pissed when it got thru the infield and it's nice to at least some emotion from that guy.

it's 4 - 3 in the bottom of the 6th. The A's had taken a 2 - 1 lead on an Ellis 2-run single, but Loaiza gave it right back in the top of the 6th and is gone. Thomas hit his 23rd homer (471 now for the career) to make it 4 - 3. Payton is on 2nd with 1 out for Chavez.

Kendall, who has been playing well lately, popped out with the bases loaded and 2 outs. 4 - 3 in the 7th.

Seattle lost, Angels won, and Texas lost.

Zito gave up a grand slam in the first and he's still pitching with 2 runners on and one out.

    Oh joy.

he got a double play to end the inning...but if it's true that a Mets scout is there, I don't think he helped us there....though Pedro didn't look good last night. I really wouldn't mind seeing him moved now because I don't think we're going to do shit even if we get to the playoffs...but I'd only move him for Milledge and two of the three rumored pitchers (Maine, Heilman, and Bannister).

McGowan looks like he brought his A game knowing that if he has a bad game he might be shipped to Tampa Bay...

Good points and you have me re-thinking how I feel about this.

he has settled down, though now Macha may be leaving him out there too long...6 - 4 A's in the 7th. 1st base with 2 outs, Zito has 117 pitches.

Kotsay has 2 hits and 1 RBI, Bradley has 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Payton has 2 hits and 3 RBIs.

IMHO it has to be for Milledge and 2 of those pitchers...I'd do that without a doubt...if it's Milledge and one of the pitchers, I'm leaning toward not doing it...I certainly haven't given up on this season and would still like to see them make the playoffs, but as they are right now, I don't see them going very far.

Duke came in and got us out of the top of the 7th. 6 - 4 in the bottom of the 7th. Zito is in line for what could be his last win as an Athletic

The way I see it now is that we, well at least I, will be sad whenever he goes, but if Beane can get that deal I mentioned, then I feel we have to do it as that is a better package than letting him walk and getting 2 picks...he is gone regardless, so why delay the inevitable?
