    Thomas/Kielty/Chavez Watch

As of today, Thomas and Kielty are a combined 0 for 36 yet Kielty was inserted into the game after Byrnes made a stupid play in the outfield that cost us two extra runs. As a fitting ending, Kielty struck out to end the game and the AB was laughable.

Also as of today, Chavez is now 0 for 16 with RISP this season and his strikeout with the bases loaded was utterly pathetic last night. I hate to include him in this type of thread but honestly he's stinking the joint up.

So, who's going to get their first hit? Or will Chavez get a hit with RISP before Thomas and Kielty sneak one through the infield?

I'm betting on Thomas; any other takers?

Kielty's just garbage. I'm betting on Thomas too.

Chavy, they're not paying you 11 million a year for you to just strikeout in clutch situations

Thomas hasa "better" track record than Kielty...I mean at least Thomas did well last year when he played for the Braves. Kielty hasn't done much of anything since we got him. Chavvy will come around...

Chavy's comments in the Chronicle today

Chavez said the final pitch of the game, the one from Eddie Guardado that got him looking, was slightly away but it was a strike. The pitch before it, at 3-1, was not.

"When you go bad, that's what happens,'' Chavez said. "You take your licks. If I was going good, that probably gets called a ball. You have to laugh about it.''

Chavez is batting .203 and he is 0-for-15 with men in scoring position, the worst mark in the majors.

When he gets hot, Chavez said, "I'm due. I'm due for the whole rest of the year.''

Chavez got a hit with RISP last night so now it's only Thomas who made a huge two run error in the outfield last night.

We are officially on a new watch folks: the A's haven't scored in TWENTY TWO innings.

Good thing they're handing out free blankets at tomorrow night's game otherwise I'd have a hard time even watching it on tv.

Twenty two innings. I wonder what the record is.

Nice work Mr Beane, that's quite a squad you've put together. Asshole.
