    Outlook on the A's-M's Series

I posted a series thread the the M's board if you have any comments on the 2 game set. This is a copy of that thread.

Overview- Once again its a battle between two team that are tied for 1st in the AL West at .500. Should be an interesting series.

    Probable Starters
Today- Barry Zito (0-3, 7.27) vs Joel Pineiro (0-1, 7.94)
Zito had his best start going 8 innings only allowing 4 hits and a walk but still lost 6-1 (allowing 2). Pineiro had an eventful start to say the least. He goty tagged for 7 hits, 4 walks, and 5 runs in 5.2 IP. This wont be the best matchup of this 2 game set. Never would have been thought of earlier in the year.
Tomorrow- Rich Harden (1-0. 0.68) vs Ryan Franklin (1-1, 2.18)
Runs will be at an extreme premimum when these to collide on Friday. Harden has only allowed 1 earned run in 13.1 IP, striking out 13 batters. Ryan Franklin has only allowed 12 H in 20 UP so far this season. Hes averaging 8.1 IPs a start.

    Players to Watch:
Rich Harden and Ryan Franklin: Do i have to explain that anymore.

    By the Numbers:
    .349- Slugging % of the Oakland A's
32- # of Extra Base Hits by the A's
.224 - Opp BA vs the A's Pitching
    1 - # of Seattle Hitters over .300
.170- Combined Batting Average of Olivo AND Wilson.
.320- Opp BA vs Eddie Guardado (OUR FRICKIN CLOSER)

Outlook- Split, im leaning toward the A's winning both games cause of Piniero's horrible start and Harden has been the best SP so far this season the AL West.

    TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)

Wow. That's ugly. How many innings has he pitched?

Pineiro has pitched pretty well against the A's in the past. And the way this offense has been scuffling this season, he could very well have our number again.

I hope and pray Harden doesn't end up as another tough luck loser. We've have a lot of those already. IIRC, we've made Franklin look like an ace at times.

Franklin is our ace right now. We haven't helped him on offense either. Both Harden and Franklin have sub-1 WHIPs right now (Harden .68, Franklin .73). Im still praying for Felix Hernandez

    We'll probably split the...2?!?!?....game series...

We've made everyone look like Cy Young so far this year...IIRC, that was Astacio's first win in 2 years yesterday

Ok we made Jon Garland look like Pedro Martinez the other day, perfect thru 7 before we FINALLY got a hit.

I have a feeling this will be the game of the week. Franklin vs Harden for some reason there wont be many runs, hits or walks in this game the way these two have been pitching.
