Yankees hurler Al Leiter is still pondering whether or not he will retire. Leiter, who turns 40 on October 23, told Newsday, "I still feel like I've got it." The paper said he is leaning towards retirement, but he will listen to what his family has to say. Leiter went 7-12 with a 6.13 ERA over 142.1 innings between the Marlins and Yankees in 2005.
Leiter blew up this season, and it appears his days as a useful fantasy pitcher may be over. Even if he does come back for another season with the Yanks or another club, he won't be worth much come draft day.
