Thread: Up Next Oakland

    Up Next Oakland

We have a huge series(they all are from on) with Oakland. We are going to put out there Leiter and Moose in the first 2 games.

I hope we have Wang or someone available in game 3 as Zito is slated. I do not want to give any of the games away.

Should be tough but I am hoping for 2 out 3.

Isn't Mussina going to miss his next start?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I think so but ESPN has him slated.

Meh, ESPN's not always the most reliable when it comes to these type of things.

Please let Mussina miss a start or two. Anyone else will do.

I'm interested to see what Aaron Small can do in a big spot. Ask David -Deep-to-Right- Ortiz how well Mussina pitches in the clutch.

I'd rather get blown out than lose a nailbiter. Leiter is hit or miss, he'll either keep it close for 5 or get lit up and last night he did not have it. Tonight's game is huge, we need Small t keep doing what he's been doing. We need a split heading into tomorrow.

The finish line is coming up fast. If there is anything left in the tank, we better find it soon.

good job bouncing back today after a rough game last night. Tomorrow should be a decent matchup with Chacon vs. Zito.

I have to agree with NYJunc, I am much more in a somber mood about blowouts either way than a nailbiter. Obviously, I am in a tremendous mood to win a 1-0 game or a walk off HR etc...but I can feel the pain in the pit of stomach when we lose 1-0 or any type of would of should of could of game.

Actually, that is why losing game 7 vs Boston in the ALCS was not as bad as it could have been...for me.

Chacon has been tough at times and will need to bring his "A" game because I don't see our bats getting a lot vs Zito. The "A" part of our pen should be rested since the first 2 games did not require Rivera.

    Pay-rod owns lefties.

    Here's to a big night for A-rod.

Speaking of the Rod..he actually came up with a meaningful RBI tonight!

Are you referring to the two that he got after the YANKEES were up 2-0. About the same value as Giambis 3run HR. I'd rather have either in the late innings of a game we are down by a run than up by two with a pitcher on cruise control.

Small continues to amaze, he has been this year's version of last year's El Duque.
