Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
Don't the Yankees go through Ticketmaster? I have always been able to print right away going through them.
Well, right away as in within a few hours of ordering once the email is sent.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
They do go through ticketmaster but I'm pretty sure the host organization has input on these matters.
The Indians were through ticketmaster as well and I got my ticket from that game instantly.
Same with the Bengals (although there was a 2 day delay on that one)
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
Kind of strange the Yankees would have a "waiting period", when I went a few years back I didn't buy the tickets the guy I was dating at the time did and they were the paper tickets bought online. I seem to remember he had them in hand at least a month or more before the trip.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I've seen the "10 days prior to event" verbiage on many events I've bought print at home tickets for. But I've always thought that was some kind of CYA stuff they'd put on it because it'd always be available right away.
The Yankees seem to be taking that to heart.
I'm assuming the 48 hour window may have something to do with it being Andy Pettite day but I'm not sure why that should matter.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
Hmm, might have to contact them directly, I certainly wouldn't want to get down to a two day window without my tickets.
BTW, don't forget i wanna see pictures....and don't forget the Cleveland ones either.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I've already messaged them about the ticket in question at the start of this thread. They responded saying it'll be available 10 days before the event. So if I don't have it on August 14th then I'm making a phone call.
As for the one with the 2 day window I may just not bother buying one, unless a standard mailed ticket would come faster then maybe.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
Sorry, didn't go back over the first post, so, you still have a little time before panic mode.
I have done the mail tickets and only once did it more than a week to get them. It was a spring training game for the Blue Jays who at that time were refusing to use the automated online ticketing AND they didn't give you a specific reserved seat at the time, it was like you get what they send you. Luckily, it was a great seat, but that might have been because it was a single.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I usually prefer print at home tickets because I have them right away. Making me wait til 10 days prior defeats that purpose.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I agree, I shy away from the will call, too.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I hate will call. I want to have my ticket in hand when I go somewhere instead of waiting until I get there hoping there isn't some mixup minutes before I need to get in. (Not to mention having to wait in line)
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
I have never had a problem the few times I have done will call, but I hate the worrying that like you say there'll be a mix up. I am the same way, I want my event tickets, my plane ticket and everything in my hand. I bet someday everything will go to having to be swiped by a smart phone and then it will be time for me to just die.
I have been using the Flex Card for the Rays games, but it took me a while to get the hang of it, so far haven't had any problems when I get to the park.
Re: The Yankees grind my gears (Hammer, enter this thread to answer a question)
Well, my trip next month just got better. I decided I'm going to catch a bus to Baltimore on the 23rd to catch an Orioles game and then jump back to New York that same night.
The relevancy to this thread, though, is that I was able to print my ticket to the game immediately after purchase.
I'm still waiting on this one.
