    Yankees Joba Rules Never Work

Joba Chamberlain has been diagnosed with a torn ligament in his throwing elbow.
An MRI revealed the damage on Thursday. Chamberlain has already been placed on the disabled list and could need Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery if the problem can't be fixed with a simple rehab process. There's a chance we won't see the 25-year-old right-hander on a major league mound for an entire year.
I hate to say it (who am I kidding, I love to say it) but I called it and knew this was inevitable. I have never been fond of his mechanics as he was all arm and very little lower body. It seems to have finally caught up to him. This is a big blow to an already thin Yankee bullpen. Look for the Yankees to be serious shoppers for relievers, mainly Heath Bell.

The Yankees I hope will not get Heath Bell. I think Bell will be looking for a Closer position with a contending team to showcase his talents for next season and the Yankees cannot offer him that. They are not going to move Rivera to Set Up Bell.

He still won't be very pleased if he has to be a set up guy.

The question is does NY have the prospects to make San Diego want to get rid of him.

we're fine with prospects. i dont really want heath bell for the price theyre gonna ask though, essentially because the yankees are probably the 3rd best team in the east to begin with. another bullpen arm isnt gonna change that.

Why are the Yankees so bad at developing pitchers? I think they have to look hard at their minor league development.
