Yankees Yankees @ Orioles 2 game set - Mo blows it

We've got a great game going on here folks.. Orioles just had the bases loaded and blew it. Couldn't get a run! Boone Logan was able to hold the runners and not give anything up.

Colon pitched a great game today only throwing 87 pitches, giving up 3 hits and striking out 7 in a stellar outing. That man is a beast; lovin' it. Mo came on in relief and instead of making it 7 of 7 in his last 7 appearances he gave up the tying run and blew his third save of the season. Adam Jones started the rally for the O's and they were able to get on his cutter before it could get in on the hands leading to a sac fly from Vlad to tie the game.

Give credit to the O's for battling back. I thought it was over when Rivera came into the game but they were able to jump on his cutter and battle back. They just had a great opportunity to put this one away. Had the bases loaded but couldn't capitalize.

Top of the 12th has just begun and Chris Dickerson (replaced Swisher) just singled to get the winning run on base.

Gardner lays down a great bunt and advances the runner to second. Great opportunity here fellas.. Make it count.

YES! The O's leave the bases loaded AGAIN.

    Good work Noesi.

Let's also not overlook the great outing by Zach Britton pitching 7 strong.. 102 pitches, 6 H, and the one run that was scored us unearned. Great outing by the kid.

    Good work homie.

    Great game last night.

The game finally ended after 15 innings and the Yankees were able to pull it out.

The Orioles had multiple chances before the 15th to end the game so they definietly had some opportunites to win this game. However, they should have never gotten those opportunites but Mo blew the save in the 9th.

The game was almost lost again in the 11th when A-rod almost through the ball passed Tex at first but thankfully Tex made one hell of a play and saved the run from scoring. Here's what A-rod had to say about that -
"Make a play, like Brett Favre," Rodriguez said. "Just make a play. At that point, you have to go crazy and just make a play."

"That's one of the highlights plays of the year for me," Rodriguez said. "He definitely saved the day. That was an amazing play."
I was very impressed with Hector Noesi and his major league debut. The kid tossed 4 scoreless innings in extras and did a great job. He told his family that he was going to strike out the first major league batter that he saw, and he did just that. I really hope that he can continue to pitch that well; we need that.

Cano came through big driving in a two run double to deep right center giving the Yankees the lead. After that, the Yankees held on and came away with the W.

I really think this was a great win for us last night. After giving up the run in the 9th the Yankees battled, didn't give up, and came away victorious. This has to feel good for that to team to get a win like this. Getting this victory was not easy especially considering all the opportunities the Orioles had to win this game. Has to feel great to be able to hold a team that had the bases loaded twice in extras and still come away with the W.

Posada to play 1st tonight -
Manager Joe Girardi has Posada in the field for the initial time this year -- at first base. Posada is batting seventh, followed by Nick Swisher and Brett Gardner. Mark Teixeira is DHing Thursday.

The move by Girardi continues the trend of starting Posada exclusively against right-handed pitching.

With a lefty on the mound Wednesday, Posada sat.

Great way to leave Baltimore last night.. Pounded the Orioles 13-2.

C.C. threw 8 shutout innings last night and had plenty of offensive support. Almost everyone contributed last night and this is a great sign.

Also, seeing the strugglin Swisher drive in 4 runs last night was another great sign. I really hope that this is what will turn his season around for him and that he will continue to build on last night.

Hopefully we can continue to roll with this and take the Subway Series.
