As Girardi said "You don't have to throw 95 to win ballgames."

Let's be real, Garcia has got to be on with his location, or he's toast. The weather was definitely on his side today, and he capitalized. But that's what our fifth starter has to do.

As for Soriano, this is the second time he's done this in the young season; Girardi excused it on the weather, stating that the weather was a common denominator between his two gaffes, but does this worry you?

I worry that the 8th may not feel the same to him as the 9th. He's still a very adequate MR, but so far, I wouldn't even say he's as good as Tom Gordon was.

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm worried.. Was I expecting this to happen though? No.. I don't think anybody was.

But it's still very early in the season, he's still getting used to going into the 8th rather than the 9th.. Getting used to Martin and his surroundings so no I wouldn't say I'm worried. He's way too good of a pitcher for me to already be worried about this. I do think he will turn it around as he sets in and gets a little more comfortable with his new role. I guess we'll see though.. We're definitely going to need him to perform as well as he did last year.

A-rod out of the lineup tonight..

Rodriguez (back) won't play against Texas on Sunday, ESPN reports.
Spin: Eric Chavez takes Rodriguez's place in the lineup. There's not really any new information on his condition, so consider Rodriguez day-to-day for the time being.

Not a good start to the game. Definitely did not want to fall down 2-0 this early in the game to Ogando.

C.C. can't make any more mistakes.. Gotta keep this game close with a pitcher like Ogando on the mound.

What a great game this is.. CC pitches pretty decent for his standards tonight.. Not the best I've seen him pitch but not horrendous.

Kinda struggled a little bit controlling his fast ball but for the most part he pitched pretty well. Left the game with a 5-4 lead so has the chance to get his first victory of the season.

Eric Chavez looks healthier than I've seen him in years. Nice to see and he just drove in the go-ahead run.

Great game tonight... Soriano looked good.. Mo looked like Mo. Definitely was a fun game to watch and a good victory for us.

HRs continue to be how we are getting all of our run support.. But hey, I'll take it.

Good series win for the Yankees before they go on a 5 game road trip.

Nice way to bounce back after losing the first game. Just keeping winning series, they have won all but one series they have played so far.
