Yankees Typical Cashman smokescreen or fact?

Despite all of the moves being made by teams, particularly contending types, it's being reported that the Empire will stand pat. At least for now. How long is now, if now is even true?

NEW YORK -- Having finished second, or maybe third, in the Cliff Lee sweepstakes, the Yankees are prepared to go into the 2011 season with a pitching rotation of CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Phil Hughes , with the remaining spots filled out by youngsters, many of whom have never pitched above the Triple-A level.

"I'm not saying I want to do it," general manager Brian Cashman said in a telephone conversation Monday morning, "but I may have to do it."

Even though it is the Empire, you can't risk over paying out of desperation. Sure, if a nice option comes open, you go for it. But what is now out there? Garza or Shields? It's certainly not worth parting with Montero.

I'd agree with that. The Yankees have some talented kids in their system. It might be fun to watch them grow up.

To be honest, this is probably more than just fact, its the best move at this point. Like catman said, it will be fun to watch the likes of Ivan Nova, Andrew Brackman, Dellin Betances, and Manny Banuelos show what they're made of. They've been highly touted for a while. Plus unless Cashman can empty the farm and convince the M's to trade Felix (which the chances are 0.00000001% right now) there are really no better options
