Yankees Seattle @ Yankee Series Thread

Mariners are currently up 6-0 right now going into the bottom of the 7th. Seattle jumped out early on us after Burnett gave up a lead off single, walked a guy and then gave up a shot to Russel Branyan which made it 3-0. King Felix has just been dealing on us all day. We really haven't had anything going today. He has struck out 10 and only given up 3 hits. Last time Felix was in NY he did this exact same thing. Just completely dealt on us. The Mariners have also got run support from Casey Kotchman and Ichiro. Branyan also went deep again on a solo shot in the top of the 6th. I don't really understand it though.. The Mariners are last in basically just about every batting category in the MLB but for some reason today just lay it on us. Oh.. Wait.. Burnett was pitching; my bad. But seriously, this is very unusual for Seattle. In the last ten starts for Felix the Mariners have given him a combined total of 10 runs. He has a record of 8-10 but an era of 2.62 which is 3rd in the AL only behind Buckholz and Cahill. His last three games against the Yankees he has gone the distance.. Lets see if he does tonight. Burnett was able to basically let the pen rest besides Gaudin. He threw 7 but didn't give us what we wanted. Hopefully Gaudin can finish out the game so we don't have to bring in another arm out of the pen. Another note from today's game.. A-rod was able to be in the starting lineup as the DH but left the game after only 1 AB. Austin Kearns came into replace A-rod who has been having a ailing left calf problem. There has been talk that they might just put A-rod on the DL to get him fully rested for the post season which wouldn't be a bad idea. I don't want this to get any worse.. We definitely need A-rod in the post season so I don't want to see this injury prolong and affect him any longer then it should.

I just love it when Vazquez gives up a lead off homer, gets an out then gives up another home run! Woo!

Arod hits the DL and the Yankees might be in a little trouble here. Pettitte and Arod on the DL and Vazquez and Burnett are getting rocked.

branyan hit the two furthest homers... or rather, most impressive homers... in yankee stadium so far. i dont know about feet wise, if they actually were the furthest... but the shot last night, and the one off the restaurant in center field were BOMBS. nobody else has hit the restaurant in center, and id be willing to bet nobody has hit a ball where he hit one last night.
