Yankees Angels @ Yankees Series Thread

Just a two game set here against the Angels. Probable pitchers for game 1:

    Sean O'Sullivan 0-0 1.29 ERA
Scott Kazmir was placed on the DL with left shoulder fatigue, so the Angels will either recall Trevor Bell or Sean O'Sullivan from Triple-A to start against the Yankees. Bell has a career 8.15 ERA in the Majors while O'Sullivan has a career 5.37 ERA.
    VS

    Phil Hughes 11-2, 3.65 ERA
Hughes beat the Mariners on July 9, hurling seven innings of one-run ball in a needed bounce-back effort. After starting the year 5-0 in six starts, Hughes has gone 8-2 with a 5.08 ERA in 10 starts, averaging 7.61 runs per game this year.
    Game 2:

    Joel Pineiro 10-6, 3.95 ERA
Pineiro was solid yet again as he won his seventh straight decision after allowing three runs over seven innings against the Mariners on Thursday. He's now 7-0 with a 2.51 ERA over his last eight outings.
    VS

    Javvier Vazques 7-7, 4.45 ERA
Vazquez carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and limited Seattle to three hits in a seven inning no-decision in his last start. Following a slow start, Vazquez has gone 6-4 with a 2.78 ERA in 10 starts since May 21.
Angels-Yankees series are always fun to watch. Should be fun, will be listening to both games on my iPod like usual!

Not a good game yesterday. Lost 10-2. O'sullivan pitched pretty well going 6 and only giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Hughes, not so much. Only went 5 giving up 9 hits and 6 ER. Javy on the bump today. Hopefully its a better showing than yesterdays game.

Good victory today. Yankees won the game 10-5. The Yankees jumped out on the Angels early getting a 6-0 lead but the Angels battled back and managed to pull within 1. Matsui hit his second home run today while he was visiting his old home, he used the right field porch to his advantage. After getting strike 2 called on him Brett Gardner argued with the home plate umpire and then go ejected. Colin Curtis came into the game and got his first big league home run sending a shot over the right field wall for a 3 run jack. The only other run scored after that was in the top of the 8th off of Bobby Abreu's bat who hit a ground ball to Tex at first which then brought the run in. The Yankees then held onto the lead and won 6-5. It was a very exciting and fun game to listen to with all the offensive. Run contributors in the game:

    Tex - 3 RBI
    A-rod - 1 RBI
    Colin Curtis - 3 RBI
    Cano - 2 RBI
    Juan Miranda - 1 RBI

    Pitching - Vasquez - 5.0 IP 5 ER Robertson - 1.0 IP - Logan 0.2 IP - Chamberlain - 1.1 IP 1 Er - Rivera 1.0 IP

    Angels:

    Abreu - 1 RBI
    Matsui - 2 RBI
    Frandsen - 1 RBI
    Wilson - 2 RBI

    Pitching - Piniero - 6.0 IP 6 ER - Shields 1.0 IP 4 ER - Thompson 1.0 IP

Yankees stay at home and now have a 4 game set with the Royals as the Angels head over to Texas for a big AL West 4 games series.
