Yankees A-rod 600 Home Run Watch

A-rod hit his 15th home run today in the Yankees 9-5 win over the Rays. Entering Sundays game against the Rays, A-rod hadn't gone deep since he hit two home runs on July 6 in Oakland. Alex is now just two home runs shy of becoming the seventh player in Major League history to hit 600 home runs. A-rod is now just 11 homers away from Sammy Sosa for sixth on the all-time list.

Just hit #599 off of Robinson Tejada. On an 0-2 pitch, no less.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

It still is kind of unreal that we have seen 4/7 of the top HR hitters in our lifetime, and a large number of folks have seen 6/7.

It would be just our luck after breaking some bad streaks recently like finally winning in Cleveland, finally getting a no-hitter and finally beating Verlander that Arod is going to wait to get that 600th when he comes into town and piss all over it.

I think he is trying too hard. It's just a matter of time that he hits it. To bad for the steroid use because he wont get into the hall of fame.

Griffey struggled mightily with 600 and I am not surprised ARod is either. It truly is a different step into an elite category, and ARod especially, is probably thinking much beyond 600.

Your idiocy never ceases to astound me. I used to wonder why you're only online sporadically...you probably can't find your computer in your own house half the time.

    A-Rod is a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

Your a fool. Wipe the jizz from your eyes and think about what Arod has done. Only reason he got paid as he has is because of the roid use. Lets see if Bond or Sosa makes the hall of fame. They cheated and should not be in the hall of fame. Why let cheaters win?

Re: A-rod 600 Home Run Watch

General, I think the steroid admission (under duress) keeps him from getting to the HOF. He has been a very good ballplayer, and would have been a candidate for the Hall without them. Many writers will never vote for anyone associated with PEDs.
His 600th will be like Bonds' was -- exciting for those who see it and are fans of his team, but not as big a deal for the rest.

I think assertion that his admission just might keep him out of the hall is valid just by the history of how much the current crop of writers hold grudges against players in recent years. In some cases it’s not limited to PEDs.

Still stuck at 599. And he's now hitting .266 on the season, approaching career-low levels!

What's to watch? Why are they still cutting into ballgames to show live feeds of him? Just show the ****ing the highlight on your highlights shows.
