American League Think they should go with a 3 man rotation?

Reports suggest it'll be Sabathia, Burnett, Pettite. OOTP, this is not, but I personally think it's not a bad idea. It worked for Arizona years ago. Of course they have two monster aces. But then again, they don't have to worry about starting Gaudin or that other guy or that other guy that shouldn't be on the major league roster. And Joba can be an important cog out of the pen.

Then there's the other side, which is Posada would ccatch at max 5 games and the angels love to run and put things into motion, causing a lot of havoc. Just ask Clay "Just hit puberty" Buchholz.

Still waiting to hear what the angels are countering with, rumor has it Joe freakin' Saunders will go game 2? Which would be awful for everyone involved except for the yankees' lineup.

If New York is leading the series after 3 games, then they can afford to give Gaudin a shot in Game 4 and give their starters an additional day of rest. Either way, Joba's staying in the pen.

I'd use Gaudin, Pettite on short rest at his age is a scary thought

The Yankees are afraid of the Angels lineup, IMO.

You just want to see Gaudin get murdered for 12 runs in a .2 innings

If the Yankees are doing this as an intimidation tactic, then its a good idea. IF the plan (and we know what is said about well laid plans) is to start their big three, jump out to a 3-0 lead and then let Gaudin have game 4 (to be murdered by the Angels lineup but with the hope that he isn't.)

But I really don't know if that's the best idea. I do agree with catman that it sounds like the Yankees are fearing the solid lineup the Angels have and they (Angels) almost seem like a team right now that might thrive more by seeing the same pitcher twice close together. Who knows though. It will be interesting to see a three man rotation in the CS again though.
