World Series: New York Yankees add Brian Bruney, Eric Hinske to roster - ESPN

The Yankees dropped Freddy Guzman and Francisco Cervelli from the roster. They added Brian Bruney and Eric Hinske.

I guess they wanted a little bullpen depth and a better bat off the bench. This leaves them with only 2 catchers, right?

That's three straight years that Eric Hinske has made a World Series roster. Might he years from now have to explain to his house guests that no, he did not photoshop himself onto those team photos?

He's not a former ROY by accident. The man's got talent.

I know he was a legit ROY. That's why it's inexplicable how his production fell off after his rookie year.

Melkey Cabrera has been "DL'd", with infielder Ramiro Pena added to the roster. Jarry Hairston, Jr. is now the 4th outfielder

More importantly, Brett Gardner is their starting CF for the rest of the series.

That hurts the offense a bit. Fortunately, they are up 3-1, not tied or down.
