    Yankees Yankees Obtain Eric Hinske

    Nice pickup for the Yankees. It cost them a couple of minor leaguers -- Casey Erickson (Minor League Baseball: Stats: Player ) and Eric Fryer (Minor League Baseball: Stats: Player ). I understand that the Pirates also included $400K in the deal.

    The Mets could have used a player like this. Pretty good pickup since the Yanks gave up nothing for him, just 400k and some mediocre minor leaguers.
