Joba makes the start, picks up the win and improves to 2-1 on the season. He gives up 9 hits and 3 ER's. A-rod went 1-4 with a single. Damon went yard in the top of seventh to give us the lead the 5-3 lead that we eventually hung onto. Rivera recorded his sixth save on the season and now has 488 career saves.

That makes 9 HRs on the year for Damon

Damon is already over halfway to his 2008 homerun total of 17, and is currently on pace to hit 50 bombs. Its May and it won't last, but if someone told me that Johnny Damon at 35 would be on pace for 50 homers at around the 30 game mark, I would have laughed so hard.

That new ballpark will rejuvenate some of those old bats.
