    Game Angels@Yankees Game Thread 8/2/08

The Angels are playing some amazing baseball right now with a record of 12-2 since the All-Star Break unlike the Yankees who have lost their last 5 of 6 games. The Yankees need to pick up a win today so they don't keep digging their self deeper in that 5.5 game back hole that they're in.

    Top 1 recap:

Mussina gets Chone Figgins to ground out back up the middle.
    Erik Aybar strikes out looking.
    Moose walks Teixeira.
    Vlad strikes out looking.

Mussina looking good so far. Has very good control on his pitches. Both strike outs hes had have been on the outside corner. Hopefully he can keep it up.

    Bottom 1 recap:
    Damon strikes out looking.
    Jeter strikes out swinging.
    Abreu strikes out looking.

Weaver sits us down 1,2,3. Can't start much better than that.
Tennessee Titans. Duke athletics. New York Yankees. Carolina Hurricanes. Portland Trailblazers.

Anderson leads off the inning with a single.
Howie Kendrick hits one down the line that bounces out of play for a ground rule double.
Juan Rivera grounds out to third.
Matthews Jr. walks and loads up the bases.
Mathis grounds a ball to third, A-rod fields it, throws to second, Betemit throws to first but Giambi can't handle the throw. It was kind of low but Giambi should have dug it. That error costs us two runs.
Moose finished the inning on striking out Figgins on a change up.

    Angels up: 2-0.

    Bottom 2 recap:
A-rod strikes out looking. 4 up and 4 struck out.
Someone finally puts some wood on it but it goes nowhere. Giambi pops up to left.
    Nady singles to center.
Betemit makes up for his throwing error and gets us on the board jacking a two run shot to right!
Melky pops out to deep center to end the inning.

    Game tied: 2-2.
Tennessee Titans. Duke athletics. New York Yankees. Carolina Hurricanes. Portland Trailblazers.
