The need to ease him into the role of a starter. Right now, his arm is conditioned to go 1one to two innings, not six to seven. If they just told him that tomorrow he's starting and they then threw him out there for six or seven innings, his arm would be dead.

He went through spring training as the setup man. He needs bullpen sessions and longer releif appearences to get his arm in the condition to be a starter.

They are the ones that will make the decision. Its what they get paid to do. If the team doesn't make the playoffs, King George and his "Princes" will not be pleased, however.

Saber will now make a declaration, for all to read!

Joba Chamberlain will not start more than 5 games this year, and shall forever and more be a relief pitcher!

Let the word of my proclamation spread forth amongst the rabble.

I think based on Hank's pointless babbling (and everything that came of it...oh, right, not a single damn thing) that its clear just how much sway he holds in the organization.

Hank will be saying a lot when he is firing Brian Cashman after the season.

I don't understand what the rush is here. He is a dominant setup guy right now, and has the tools to be a great starter but it is not guaranteed to have success in the rotation immediately. In fact I highly doubt he would be much better than average at the moment due to the way he is currently conditioned to pitch.

Doubt it. We've heard he was going to be fired every year with the Boss in charge...didn't happen. Cashman and Hank have both said they're on the same page right now.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

well, technically he cant be fired after the season. he can not resign with the yankees or the yankees can choose not to offer him a contract.

I understand that but we still call it firing. Just like Joe Torre.

Wait and see when the Yankees get bounced in the first round or miss the playoffs altogether. I cannot foresee Cashman coming back.
