Of course it doesn't make any sense, that was my point.

No way should any ****ing celebrity take the place of a bonafide ballplayer who is under contract and is trying to make a name for himself especially this late into the spring. Not one of you would let this shit stand if it were your ABs being taken away. If you say you would I would call you a liar because that's just not how competitors act.
Is missing 2 or 3 ABs going to cause Matsui's knee to not heal properly?

IT'S NOT GOING TO HELP!!!! And for you to not want to make sense doesn't make any sense. Bobble heads have nothing to do with Billy Crystal or someone losing deserved ABs.

Look guys, what the Yankees are doing with Billy Crystal is a classy act. He'll take the field for an inning and get an at bat. He'll sign a few autographs and get his picture taken numerous times. He won't cost anyone that needs work their chance to get it anyway. Most decisions are made because of the workouts, not because of split-squad games in spring training.
I hope the Twins do something like this for me when I approach 60, although I'm not in the condition Billy Crystal is. He might actually be able to make a play or 2.

The entire point behind the post was a response to you saying "well, it's not going to help"

I purposely threw in something off the wall that also doesn't help in order to make the point that that alone isn't worthy of the complaints put forth in this thread.

I have to pick something off the wall because if I don't I leave open the possibility of that, too, being up for debate.

The fact that bobble heads don't help a prospect develop is obviously not up for debate.

You still aren't making any ****ing sense with the bobble heads and prospects so please stop! It shopuld have never been brought up anyway since it didn't make any kind of point.

Boy!! Was that ****ing worth it or what!? Crystal leads off the game facing someone who will be a starter this year and strikes out!! No one could have benefited from facing a real pitcher except Billy Crystal.

There we go...he had one single at-bat. One at-bat. The Yankees spring training is not ruined. Sanity on Earth will continue. A single at-bat.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

So whose career has now been drastically ruined because Billy Crystal took an at bat from him?

Johnny Damon!...you know, the guy who's been in the big leagues since 1995.

After watching the at-bat, he didn't do too bad, aside from the last two pitches where he swung and missed badly at two breaking balls inside. But he did make contact and fouled off a pitch, and laid off a pitch inside and a ball up in the strike zone. Not too shabby for a 60-year old.

The whole stunt was still an embarrassment to the Yankees, rnough of Billy crystal. We don't care about him. he has been irrelevant for many years except for his desire to peek at the yankees in the shower. That's all he's known for these days. Check out this quote from the other day, maybe it will help show why this idiot should be nowhere near the Yankee clubhouse:

Perhaps Crystal, a legendary jock sniffer, will stop by Joba Chamberlain's and Ian Kennedy's locker to hang out. More likely, he will tie up the massage table, something he has done in past visits to Legends Field , an act that ticked off the real players.

This has to be the most talked about 5 pitches I will ever see in my lifetime. If FIVE pitches in a SPRING TRAINING GAME is going to derail Johnny Damon's season. Shoot me now. I could do Allen Iverson's Practice rant again. This is what's its like, Larry Brown (Con) vs Allen Iverson (Pro).

Good because Iverson was dead wrong in what he said.

That was a bad example because Iverson was wrong.

Iverson was talking about missing practices, Crystal took one at bat away from Johnny Damon, who I assume is still attending Yankees practices.

In a week where they had a spring training brawl, how is it possible that people consider this an embarassment to the Yankees?
