Wow and not one of those teams are over .500 right now. Congrats to the Yanks.

I don't like this. And I can't be the only superstitious baseball fan.

    Don't forget: We're in 3rd place.

1 of those teams WAS over .500 before we beat them 2 of 3.

Superstitions are to each his own. I prefer the REALITY of what is happening.
Don't forget, the race is just past the 1/4 pole. DO YOU TEAR UP YOUR TICKETS AT THE RACETRACK AT THE 1/4 POLE OF A MILE RACE WHEN YOUR HORSE IS BEHIND.

Also, now you can blame me when the YANKEES lose a game or a series, claiming I jinxed them.

This is a different Yankee team than at the 30 game mark 11-19.

The difference between a team that goes 92-70 and 81-81 is not that great over a 162 game season. 11 games, how many 1 run or extra inning games could team 81-81 have turned around over the course of 162 games?

It is way too early to look at who the Yankees are necessarily beating as a measuring stick. Sure Oakland and Seattle are not Baltimore or the Chi-Sox but they are also not AAA affiliates either.

Internet Etiquette Rule #2765: Never, under any circumstances, type in all caps.
Internet Etiquette Rule #2766: When asking a question, use a question mark.

I'm not going to blame you if the Bombers start losing. I'm also not going to tout our sucess at the 1/4 pole. Thats what Red Sox fans do.

All I am saying is I wouldn't start a thread like this because of my own superstition. Call me crazy but I get superstitious about the Yanks, no matter how successful they are. I can't take winning for granted. Did you ever play baseball JoeK?

You're reaching. A win is a win. You don't give up wins because it's the A's or Mets... sorry, we don't want these wins... return them and give us Red Sox and Braves wins.

Perhaps we can put some of those wins on layaway though?

Your etiquette rules are for fools. #1. I use caps to amplify a point. #2. The question that I posed was extremely satirical, and obviously did not require an answer.

You did not start the thread, I did, and I am not superstitious.

I also do not take winning for granted. It has to be earned.

I played high school ball, and killed my rotator.

A little humility would do you good.

Such a bitter old man. Go buy yourself a sense of humor with the money Mr. S gives you.

On the contrary, only those who are wrong would describe me as bitter. And my sense of humor is fantastic. Don't let the truth get you down, ride the wave of wisdom.

By no means infallible. No one is. But right a hell of alot more than wrong. Particularly when it comes to the game of baseball and baseball players.

I might have to call that Debate a draw.
