Kennedy Looking Strong, As Do Yanks

Ian Kennedy has thrown 7 innings giving up only 3 runs and striking out 6. The Yankees look to have this one in hand up 9-3 in the bottom of the seventh with a guy on first and second. Hopefully this wasn't a fluke for Ian, hopefully this kid can come out and give us the outing that he did today on a regular basis. He didn't play the best team in Tampa Bay but this is an amazing outing by the rookie. The rotation is starting to look alot stronger though and its always good to see farm players come up because now the talk that the Yankees don't have any farm players is starting to decrease.

it's 1 start, remember how great Hughes looked after his 2nd start. I have complete confidence Hughes and kennedy will be excellent pitchers but don't besurprised if Ian goes through some bumps as well.

Also, only one of those three runs was earned.

All pitchers go through bumps so its not going to be a dramatic event when it happens.
