80-51, 1st AL East-72-58, 2nd AL East
When:
Game One-8/28/07 7:05 ET
Game Two-8/29/07 7:05 ET
Game Three-8/30/07 1:05 ET
Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York.
Game 1:Daisuke Matsuzaka, 13-10, 3.76 ERAVSAndy Pettite, 11-7, 3.69 ERA
Game one prediction:Pettite is on a roll and the Yankees realize that if they don't sweep this series then they have no shot at the division title so with that said I feel that Andy will come out and give a strong outing and the Yankees will squeeze this one out: 6-4.
Game 2:Josh Beckett, 16-5, 3.21 ERAVSRoger Clemens, 5-5, 4.34 ERA.
Game two prediction:I know that the odds of the Yankees winning this one are very slim but I have to keep my spirt and hopes up. With that said I think Clemens will pitch ok for the staff but not great. Like I said earlier though the Yankees know there is alot on the line here so I think they will be competing every inning to win. Yankees win:6-3.
Game 3:Curt Schilling, 8-5, 4.11 ERAVSChien-Ming Wang, 15-6, 3.95 ERA.
Game three prediction:The Yankees will send their best pitcher to the mound on Thursday night so I'm feeling pretty good about this one. Jeter is going to get this team going again and he will lead the Yankees to win the division. Wang will hopefully give us a strong outing so we don't have to use the pen to much if that happens then the Yankees win:4-2.
Yankees sweep, 3-0.
MVP Series:Derek Jeter
(this may sound like a bias post but we have to have high hopes!)
