    Yankees-Orioles/Series Thread

    @

    Baltimore: 54-62, 4th AL East - New York: 66-51 2nd AL East

    When

    Game One-8/13/07 7:05 ET
    Game Two-8/14/07 7:05 ET
    Game Three-8/15/07 1:05 ET

    Where: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York.

    Game 1: Jeremy Guthrie- 7-4, 3.22 ERA VS. Chien Ming-Wang-13-6, 3.94 ERA

    Game 1 Prediction: My prediction on this game is that the Yankees come away winners. Wang will toe the mound and pitch about 6 maybe 7 strong innings. The Yankees are on fire right now so we now the bats will be there. Yankees win 5-3.

    Game 2::Daniel Cabrera, 8-12, 5.14 ERA VS. Jeff Karstens, 0-2, 10.13 ERA

    Game 2 Prediction:Now I'm a little shaky with this game. Karstens is makin me nervous and even with the sticks way hot right now I don't see the Yankees pulling this one out. Orioles win 4-1.

    Game 3::Erik Bedard, 12-4, 3.11 ERA VS. Phil Hughes, 2-1, 4.64 ERA

    Game 3 Prediction: Phil Hughes is amazing bottom line this kid will be a cornerstone player for a long time. And even though the O's are sending Bedard to the mound I think the Yankees will win this game. Yankees win 6-3.

    Yankees win series 2-1.

    We could conceivably get swept.

    Game 1 should be a win but Game 2 and 3 is up in the air.

    I would just like to start off by saying, I really hate the yankee's but give credit where credit is do. I think it is safe to say that the yanks have played the best baseball since the all star break. Heck with the wild card, they have a good chance of winning the East.
    Yanks win the series at the minimum!!

    Game 1: Advantage Yankees, but not by a huge margin. Mainly b/c they are hot, homefield, and Guthrie is coming back to earth.

    Game 2: Push. Depends on which DCab shows up. With the way the Yanks are hitting the ball, I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it 5. But just when you think Cabrera has gone and lost it, he often comes back with a gem. One is just as likely as the other.

    Game 3: Advantage Orioles. I know Hughes is the future and he has nasty stuff, but Bedard is a top 3 pitcher in the AL and a K monster. I can't go against him.

    Game 1 outcome:Yankees win 7-6! Mariano blew his first save since April 20, but my boy Bobby Abreu and so did the newly aquired Wilson Betemit homered, Mr. Clutch knocked in the winning run.

    Betemit and Chamberlain have been as good as anyone could expect so far. Big win and hopefully we can steal one behind Karstens tomorrow and take the series.

    Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    I'm really looking forward towards Hughes facing Bedard. I don't even want to watch Karstens pitch tomorrow.

    We won but wang wasn't very good again and Mariao for the 2nd consecutive day had a poor outing this time blowing a save. Give Mo a few days off and let's see if that helps, I am concerned about him.

    Well, hopefully tonight galvanizes the FO to send down Brower and Karstens. We have better options in Britton and Ramirez sitting at AAA.
