    I would say desperate is accurate, except Cashman had been working on it since the offseason. So it was something that the team was planning since spring training, regardless of the struggles of the team.

    We'll be so much better if he leaves and we use the money we would have spent on him on more players. if he wanst to stay he won't opt out but if he does it costs the Yanks double since Tex pays a portion of his salalry now where they wouldn't if he opted out.
