yea, 3-1 was outside... but when they were in the terrible slump, they NEVER got the benefit of a call. thats the first call thats gone our way in quite a while... hopefully with last nights win it will signify a change.

As Rick Sutcliffe just noted (I'm watching on ESPN) the Yankees had 3 guys who really need to get going...Damon, who has a single and steal, Giambi, who crushed a HR, and Cano, who ripped a double.

And then a weird play...Damon grounds one up the middle, Cora hesitates but then throws to 3rd and Cano is standing on the base already.

1st and 3rd for a guy hitting .500 with RISP.

jeter is absurd. rocket single scores cano from 3rd, and damon goes 1st to 3rd because he was running. 4-0 yanks.

And Jeter delivers again! Line drive base hit to LF on 3-1, Cano scores and Damon was running so he goes to 3rd. Great baserunning and more great clutch hitting by Jeter.

matsui flies out deep to center, 4-0 yanks after 2 with wang on the mound. bodes well, you would think. wangs been shaky the first 2 innings himself though, so who knows.

Wang has done the same thing both innings, got the first 2 guys out and then got himself into trouble...he can't keep doing this, because the more baserunners, the more the lineup turns over and the big Sox bats are gonna get plenty of chances.
