Ichiro hits a low, soft, looping popup to 3rd and A-Rod makes the play. 2 outs.

    Bottom 5

Matsui grounds out to 1st, the lumberjack Sexson takes it himself for the first out.

Posada doubles to right-center, not a bad pitch but a good swing.

Big hit by Doug! Lines a double into the right-centerfield gap about where Posada's was, Ichiro cuts it off but can't throw him out. Jorge scores, 2-1 Yankees.

    Weird stat here.

    Opponent's batting avg against Batista:
    1st time through the order - .317
    2nd time - .273
    After that - .244

Looks like the reverse of almost everybody else.

Nice at-bat by Damon, a few foul balls after battling back from 1-2 and finally draws the walk.

Another great at-bat. Jeter pulls a Damon by battling back from 1-2, fouling off a few tough pitches before drawing the walk.

Bases loaded, 2 outs for Abreu...pitching visit to the mound. Batista has thrown I think 31 pitches this inning.

Ugh...Abreu gets to 3-1, a beatiful sinker gets it to 3-2, and then after a foul ball he grounds out, Sexson to Batista.

    2-1 Yankees after 5.

Sexson flies out to straightaway CF, another 1-2-3 inning for DeSalvo who has been fantastic.

2-1 Yankees going to the bottom of the 6th.

    Bottom 6th

A-Rod fouls off a couple pitches, then hits a very slow roller to 3rd that Beltre barehands but has no play. An infield single for A-Rod.
