Cano lines a leadoff single to LF on the first pitch.

WOW! Doug singles to RF for his second hit...I don't believe this, automatic out is playing well. Great baserunning by Cano, 1st and 3rd 0 out.

Bad news: Melky grounds out into a 4-6-3 DP
Good news: Cano scores, 5-4 Yankees.
They're hitting it well but right at people, that was a sharp grounder.

    Nieves pops out to SS.

5-4 Yankees after 5 and a half...wait a minute, what did Jon Miller just say?

Lugo greets Pettite loudly with a long fly out to RF, Abreu pulls it down for the first out.

For the record, it's his day to throw so he's offered to relieve.

Woo...Ortiz grounds into a double play. Nice job by Andy.

    5-4 Yanks after 6, I'm outta here.

Where the updates? I noticed on MLB.com that the Red Sox regained the lead in the bottom of the 7th.
"For someone who was never meant for this world, I must confess I'm suddenly having a hard time leaving it. Of course, they say every atom in our bodies was once part of a star. Maybe I'm not leaving... maybe I'm going home."

Anyway, another awful loss for the Yankees and Torre blows it again.

I still feel very good about this team, we knew going in we'd be lucky to get a game and after we blew it Fri a sweep was coming but our bats battered their solid SP but we couldn't pitch. Once we get healthier in the staff we'll be ok. We just need to stay relatively close until that happens.
