Yankees Yanks to Pursue Clemens, Pettitte

    From Today's Daily News:

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/ba...p-394619c.html

I'd be ok w/ Andy, while clearly on the downside of his career he's still a decent lefty and we don't have any plus he should finish his career w/ the Yanks.

Give me Pettitte and let Clemens and his 20 million dollars a year rot in hell with Brett Favre.

If they wanted to keep playing with the Yankees, then why did they leave?

Well Saber, getting paid a shitload to play 3/5 of the year might have something to do with it.

Well, stoner, they've been offered plenty to stay in New York before, and they declined to do so. What would change this time?

The Yankees are trying anything to try to get past the ALDS.

Of course the Yankees will pursue these guys. They may as well negotiate as a pair, because they play well together. If a team can sign one, the other would join him gladly, I'm sure.
The Yankees need to bring in a pitcher or 2 to counter the Red Sox moves this year. That's just the way things go in the AL East, where salaries are high and baseball is very competitive.

We didn't offer Pettitte a serious contract, if we did he would have stayed and Clemens probably would have stayed retired.

A Braves fan isn't really making fun of the Yankees 2 year inability to get out of the LDS? A fan of a team that lost in the LDS SIX straight times(and 8 of 9) from '00-'05 and didn't even make the playoffs in '06 is making fun of the Yankes? By the way, the last time you got out of the LDS we swept you in the World Series.

    Brewers

So we have the Yankees to thank for Clemens to keep returning each year and giving him more publicity and making his head swell larger and larger cause the MLB "needs" him so much! Please, he isn't a true team mate either. He is too good to travel with his team on road trips, Please! I respect the hell out of Clemens, he is awesome at his craft, but he is another T.O. too!!!! He pushes buttons to get what he wants and see what he can get away with, and somehow our society allows these athletes who are grossly over paid to do whatever they want and then get away with it. In the business field if you are suppose to travel, you must, or no job for you! This is their career, they should follow the standards as us middle income Americans too.

Actually, the Yankees offered more money than what Pettite earned in Houston. I would call that a serious offer. He simply wanted to play in Houston, not New York.
