Yanks vs. Mets 6/30-7/2

Subway Series part II comes to Yankee Stadium tonight. The yanks need a series win to even up the season series, hopefully the mets remian in their slump and hopefully the ARod homer gives the Yanks a little momentum. The pitching matchups favor us this weekend so we need at least 2 of 3.

The pitching matchups:

El Duque vs. Mussina Tonight
Trachsel vs. Johnson Tomorrow
Soler vs. Wright Sunday

These pitching matchups totally favor us. If we can't win 2 out of 3 here we may as well call it a wrap. Seriously. Lets get the brooms out for once.

It would be nice to get a sweep but bare minimum we have to take the series. The BoSox have taken full advantage of the NL and they just humi8liated the mets so we better at least take 2 of 3.

The Yanks took Game 1 2-0 behind 5 pitchers who tossed a 1 hitter. Mussina went 4 inning sof no-hit ball then the rains came and he didn't come back after the delay ws over but the pen was brilliant allowing just 1 hit over 5 innings and a 2-0 win and we FINALLY picked up a game on Boston who lost to Florida. We need a big performance out of randy today, hopefully7-8 innings at the least to save the pen.

We got OLD Randy instead of the old Randy. We awoke a dead Mets team w/Randy getting torched and of course we can't hit the great Steve Trachsel.

What a night for Green, gunning down Valentin, hits a 2 run HR and makes another great defensive play a couple of innings later.

At least we got the series win and stayed 4 back of Boston. Now IL play is finally over and hopefully Boston starts losing some games.
