Yankees acquired infielder Nick Green from the Devil Rays for cash considerations and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus.
They really do seem to be acquiring everybody. Green just cleared waivers when he was removed from the Rays' roster earlier this month. He'd be an upgrade over Miguel Cairo as a reserve infielder, although that's certainly not saying much. The Yankees don't have anyone who wouldn't be a big liability should they lose Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter or Robinson Cano for any length of time.
