    Pena to the Yanks?

According to Newsday, the Yankees are in negotiations with free agent Carlos Pena.
Released by the Tigers last month, Pena would serve as a part-time starter, pinch-hitter and defensive replacement for Jason Giambi at first base. He has also reportedly drawn interest from the Red Sox, Dodgers and a Japanese team.
I don't see anything wrong with this.

I am extremely surprised Pena has yet to get a deal yet.

And the Red Sox are interested in yet another player the Reds actually could use (unlike the smart stockpiling by the Red Sox.) Hey Fish, wanna switch GM's?

Yeah, where is Krivsky on this? I guess he loves Hatteberg this much?

Pena is OK, but his defense is no great shakes and I'd much rather have Andy Phillips. But if anything can turn around this leftie's career it's the short right field porch.

Yeah, Epstein certainly has his hits and misses, but I'm happy with him at the helm of the Sox. Although Krivsky looks better than OB
